Dear Friends,

I would like to ask for your help in establishing Human Health Project (HHP) as a permanent member of GlobalGiving. By becoming such a member, HHP will be able to maintain an ongoing crowdfunding campaign and also create specific campaigns as needed.

Commencing October, we will use a combination of our $480K per annum, Google Ads grant, social media and PR to tell the HHP story to attract people looking for Integrative (conventional and complementary) evidence-based data about their condition treatment outcomes and also to raise money to fund HHP’s core activities.

In order to become a permanent GlobalGiving member, we need to raise $5,000 from at least 40 donors between September 19th and 30th (which we will use to fund phase 1 of the addition of 5 “invisible illnesses,” (Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Crohn’s Disease, Lyme Disease, Chronic Fatigue). That’s an average of $125/person. I am not asking everyone to donate $125, less or more would be great. This initial campaign with GlobalGiving.com will fund the cash portion of the work to add these 5 invisible illnesses.

To bring you up to date on HHP’s activities:

In May this year, we launched HHP360 with an initial condition, Migraine.

Since then, over 2,000 people have taken the migraine survey, the results of which can be seen in real time for Causes, Symptoms, Treatments. In addition, HHP360 includes a curated review of evidence-based integrative research on migraine.

Over the last few months, we have received over 200 emails from people asking for help and/or requesting their health condition be added to the site. In order to keep up with these requests we need core funding in addition to the work of the HHP volunteer team. (In the last year, of a total operating budget of $1.4 million, just 4%, $55K was in cash, as shown in our HHP Donor presentation.)

The campaign is open for donations from Sept the 19th to the 30th, that’s only 12 days. If you donate on Sep 22nd, all online donations of more than $25 and up to $1000 per donor will be matched by 20%.
